The residence and office of the Minister of Communication and Digitalization, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, have been ransacked by a gang of about 15 men in a violent invasion that saw valuable items stolen and property vandalized.
The assailants allegedly stormed the premises and made away with “three motorbikes, one pickup vehicle, and a 32-inch Samsung television set, among others,” according to a statement from the Ghana Police Service.

In response, the Police have launched an investigation into the incident and assured the public of swift action. “Crime Scene Management team has visited the scene as part of the Police investigation into the incident. Currently, a targeted intelligence-led operation is ongoing to get the suspects arrested to face justice, and we assure the public that we will get them,” the statement read.
To ensure her safety, the Police leadership has reached out to the Minister and “beefed up security at her office and residence,” the statement added.
This attack follows Ursula Owusu-Ekuful’s recent loss of her parliamentary seat in the just-ended general elections. The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West was defeated by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Rev. Kweku Addo, who secured 31,866 votes, while Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful polled 26,575.
The Police are urging the public to remain calm as investigations continue, reiterating their commitment to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
