Kenyan Police investigate death of man found with two used condoms

Kakamega County Police are investigating the death of a 55-year-old man, Elijah Mudongo, who was found dead in a room at an entertainment club in Shibuli Trading Centre, Lurambi.

Authorities are seeking an unknown woman who was allegedly with him prior to his death.

According to detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the woman, significantly younger than Mudongo, joined him at the club on Sunday, several hours after he arrived. After spending time together in a booked room, she reportedly left under unclear circumstances, leaving Mudongo’s body on the floor, alongside two used condoms.

“We are currently conducting an investigation. It is confirmed that the man was found dead, and two used condoms were located next to him. Witnesses at the club say he was with a woman who exited the room before a staff member discovered the body,” said a DCI officer involved in the case.

Additionally, investigators found a drug resembling a male enhancement pill at the scene, which will be tested to ascertain any connection to the man’s death. The absence of CCTV cameras at the club is complicating efforts to locate the woman.

Velma Achema, the club owner, stated that Mudongo was a regular customer. “He checked in on Sunday morning and was joined by a lady five hours later, who ordered food and reserved a room,” Achema noted, as reported by The Standard.

The deceased’s body has been taken to Kakamega Funeral Parlor for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death. Meanwhile, community members are urging the police to investigate thoroughly and are advising caution regarding the use of enhancement drugs.
