The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has announced a delay in the special direct flight from London Gatwick to Kumasi Prempeh I International Airport.
Initially set to arrive on Tuesday, December 3, the flight has now been rescheduled to arrive later this week due to the short notice provided for the service.
In a press statement issued on December 2, 2024, GACL reassured passengers and the general public of ongoing efforts to manage the situation.
“The previously announced flight slated for Tuesday, December 3, will now arrive at Kumasi Prempeh I International Airport later this week,” the statement noted.
The company apologized for the inconvenience caused and encouraged affected passengers to remain informed by reaching out to the airline or checking updates on the GACL website.
GACL also confirmed that the second flight in this series, scheduled for December 15, 2024, remains unaffected and will operate as planned.
For passengers booked on the December 3 flight, this delay may result in changes to their travel plans. They may need to adjust connecting flights, accommodation bookings, or other arrangements in Kumasi or London. Travelers are advised to maintain contact with the airline and check for updates on the revised arrival schedule to avoid further disruptions.
Despite the setback, the introduction of this new route is expected to offer long-term benefits by enhancing travel convenience for residents of the Ashanti Region and fostering stronger economic and cultural ties between Ghana and the UK. GACL has emphasized its commitment to expanding Ghana’s aviation network and providing more efficient international travel options.
