Tamara Ingram has been appointed as the Deputy Chair of the Ofcom Board for a four-year term starting December 1, 2024.
With over 35 years in the communications industry, Tamara brings a wealth of experience, having held CEO roles at prominent companies including McCann World Group UK, Added Value, The Henley Centre, WPP’s Team Procter & Gamble, J. Walter Thompson Company, and as Chair and CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi.
Known for her focus on growth and innovation, she currently sits on the boards of Marks and Spencer, Marsh McLennan, Intertek, and Reckitt, in addition to chairing Asthma & Lung UK and 10 Group.
Previously, Tamara has also held non-executive positions with The Royal Court, Wunderman Thompson, Visit London, Sage PLC, and EDF. As Deputy Chair, she will receive £70,000 annually, with her appointment adhering to the Governance Code on Public Appointments, regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments.
The Secretary of State has appointed Lord Richard Allan to a four-year term on the Ofcom Board, effective from November 1, 2024. With almost three decades of experience in communications and technology policy, Lord Allan brings a wealth of expertise to the role. A Member of the House of Lords since 2010, he initially served with the Liberal Democrats before becoming non-affiliated on October 2, 2024.
Starting his career as a Systems Developer for the NHS, Allan represented Sheffield Hallam in Parliament from 1997 to 2005, where he chaired the Information Select Committee. He later moved to the private sector, joining Cisco Systems as Director of Public Policy, followed by a decade at Facebook (now Meta) as VP of Public Policy, overseeing a team of over 70 experts across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. His current non-executive roles include positions with New Automotive and the Centre for Public Data.
Previously, Allan held influential roles with the European Digital Media Observatory, the Power of Media Taskforce, and Sheffield City Trust. Ofcom Non-Executive Directors receive an annual remuneration of £42,519, with this appointment made in line with the Cabinet Office’s Governance Code on Public Appointments.
