In a daring daylight robbery at Adabraka Market in Accra on Saturday, November 2, a group of four masked and heavily armed men escaped with bags of cash, sparking a police manhunt.
The robbers ambushed a man in a red Toyota Corolla near the bustling market, firing shots into the air to scatter the crowd before forcing their way into the vehicle.
Witnesses said the assailants quickly seized large bags of cash from the car and transferred them to their getaway vehicle, continuing to fire shots as they fled to keep bystanders at bay. Panicked shoppers and vendors sought cover, stunned by the swift and bold nature of the heist.
The police, who are actively pursuing the robbers, have promised swift action to bring the criminals to justice. “We would like to assure the public that we will surely get them and bring them to face justice,” the police stated. This incident marks the second armed robbery in the area within three months, leaving residents concerned about security in the neighborhood.
