Scenes from Bogobiri explosion that killed one

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed a massive fire explosion at a garage in Bogobiri, Obuasi, in the Ashanti Region, resulting in the tragic loss of one life and injuries to several others.

According to officials, the explosion, which occurred during welding activity, led to a devastating fire that engulfed five structures—three metal containers and two sandcrete buildings.

Seven injured persons have been hospitalized in Obuasi and Kumasi, while firefighters work tirelessly to bring the situation under control.

The GNFS has urged residents and motorists to avoid the area and use alternative routes for their safety as overhaul operations continue to extinguish any remaining fire pockets.

Emergency responders remain on site, and investigations are underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
