“We, the grassroots, strongly believe that Joshua Nii Armah Solomon is the ideal candidate for the position of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Okaikwei North Municipality. His appointment would not only recognize his unwavering dedication and hard work but also guarantee the continued growth and success of the municipality under strong, visionary leadership,” an NDC Constituency Executive is quoted by Vestdaily to have said.

Profile

Joshua has dedicated over a decade to public service, demonstrating strong leadership, integrity, and a deep commitment to community development. His extensive experience spans election management, party organization, and grassroots mobilization.

In the area of election management and coordination, Joshua has played a pivotal role in ensuring smooth and transparent electoral processes. He has successfully recruited, trained, and deployed party agents on three different occasions for election day operations.

His efforts ensured that these agents were well-prepared to uphold electoral integrity and adhere to the necessary procedures. He also worked closely with Electoral Commission (EC) officials to inspect and receive ballot materials at the Accra Regional Police Headquarters.

As part of his duties, he monitored the distribution of these materials and escorted them, under police security, to the Tesano District Police Headquarters.

Joshua was actively involved in managing ballot materials, a critical task in preventing election malpractice. He participated in recording the serial numbers of presidential and parliamentary ballots, wrapping ballot booklets, and securing them in police custody. On election day, he played a key role in escorting ballot materials to polling stations in the Anumle Ward, ensuring they remained intact and secure.

Beyond logistical support, Joshua also contributed to monitoring and collating election results. He closely supervised the performance of Ward Collation Officers using assigned devices and assisted both the National Desktop Collation Officer and the Parliamentary Collation Officer in their tasks.

His strategic oversight and commitment to accuracy played a significant role in securing historic victories in the December 2024 elections. Under his coordination, the parliamentary race recorded a winning margin of 7,736 votes, while the presidential contest was won with a margin of 10,820 votes.

Apart from his electoral work, Joshua has served as the Communication Officer for the Ebenezer Methodist Branch in the Akweteman Ward. In this role, he has been responsible for disseminating information about the party’s programs, policies, and events. He has also developed strategic initiatives to promote the party’s vision within the branch and the broader community.

Additionally, he has supported the Constituency Communication Officer in drafting messages and coordinating communication efforts for various events.

His key achievements include organizing a highly successful event for branch communicators at Achimota Girls Guide, which featured notable speakers such as Hon. Theresa Lardi Awuni, Chairman Gregory Quarshie, Comrade Edudzi Tamakloe Esq., and Comrade Eric Adjei. The event provided participants with certificates of recognition, further strengthening engagement within the party.

Joshua has also served as a polling agent for H.E. John Dramani Mahama during the 2023 flagbearer race. On election day, he ensured that all electoral procedures were followed correctly, from voter verification to ballot issuance.

His vigilance helped prevent any electoral malpractices, and he actively raised concerns where necessary. He also observed the sorting of ballots, the counting of votes, and the signing of the statement of poll (pink sheet) to ensure transparency. His role contributed to a decisive victory, with John Mahama securing 100% of valid votes cast in his favor.

Through his years of service, Joshua has consistently demonstrated a commitment to electoral integrity, strategic communication, and effective political organization, making him a valuable asset in any political or governance-related endeavor.
