Mfantsipim, Keta SHTS, Augusco set for 2024 NSMQ finale today

Mfantsipim School, Keta Senior High Technical School (Keta SHTS), and St. Augustine’s College (Augusco) are set to compete for the coveted 2024 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) trophy today, Wednesday, October 30, in a highly anticipated grand finale.

St. Augustine’s College secured their place in the finals after a thrilling semi-final round on Sunday, where they edged out Ghana National College and Wesley Girls’ High School. St. Augustine’s finished with 52 points, narrowly beating Ghana National College, which scored 49 points, and Wesley Girls’ High School, which had 37 points.

Keta SHTS also earned their spot in the finale by overcoming Koforidua Senior High Technical School and Tamale Senior High School, finishing strong with 38 points in their semi-final contest.

Mfantsipim’s journey to the final was marked by a dramatic deadlock with Presec, where both schools ended with 53 points. Mfantsipim triumphed in a nail-biting tiebreaker by correctly solving the final riddle, eliminating the reigning champions and denying them a ninth title.

As the three schools prepare for the finale, excitement builds for what promises to be an unforgettable showdown.
