President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in 42 ministers, exactly one month after his inauguration, as he works to fully establish his administration of not more than 60 ministers. The rapid confirmation process, he noted, is unprecedented and demonstrates a strong commitment to assembling a functional government without delay.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony held today, President Mahama urged his appointees to serve with humility and dedication, emphasizing the importance of leading by example. He cautioned them against adopting extravagant lifestyles that could worsen the economic struggles of ordinary citizens.
“The swift approval process for my appointees is unprecedented and reflects a commitment to promptly assembling a functional government,” he stated.
The latest group of 17 ministers—approved by Parliament either by consensus or majority vote—marks the fourth batch of appointees to be sworn in. Represented by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the ministers pledged to prioritize the public interest and uphold their responsibilities with integrity.
