LIVE: Swearing-in ceremony for Donald Trump

Today marks the start of Donald Trump’s second term as President of the United States, with his swearing-in ceremony formally transferring power from the Biden administration to the Trump administration.

Scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. ET, the ceremony will see Trump take the presidential oath at noon, in line with the 20th Amendment. Due to expected cold temperatures in Washington, D.C., the event will be moved indoors to the Capitol Rotunda.

The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, led by Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, has organized the day’s events. This year’s ceremony theme is “Our Enduring Democracy: A Constitutional Promise.”
