Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage has captured images of the individuals who raided the Cantonments residence of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
Eyewitness accounts and security footage indicate that about 12 individuals were involved in the operation. Among them, five were seen wearing military uniforms, one was dressed in a police uniform, while the rest were in civilian clothing.
The motive behind the raid remains unclear, and it is yet to be determined whether any valuables were taken from the premises.
Mr. Ofori-Atta has been out of the country since early 2025 for medical treatment in the United States, a trip he had officially communicated to the Chief of Staff.

Amid widespread speculation regarding the incident, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has denied any involvement, suggesting that the operation was either staged or executed by individuals posing as law enforcement officers.

Addressing journalists on Wednesday, February 12, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng firmly refuted claims that his office was behind the raid.
“Mr. Ofori-Atta, the OSP did not raid your house on Tuesday, 11th February 2025, or on any other day. Mr. Ofori-Atta, the OSP did not cause any persons, however, uniformed or bedecked, to raid your house on Tuesday, 11th February 2025, or on any other day. Mr. Ofori-Atta, that could not have been the OSP, and that is not our style.”
Mr. Agyebeng further alleged that the incident was a deliberate scheme aimed at discrediting the OSP and obstructing its ongoing corruption probe into the former minister.
“Our intelligence points us to state that the purported raid of Mr. Ofori-Atta’s residence was staged or, at best, an imposter action in an attempt to cause disfavor for the OSP and to derail the investigation. The OSP is never deterred by such occurrences, and the investigations will continue as prescribed by law.”
With the emergence of the CCTV footage, public interest in the case has intensified, with many calling for a thorough investigation to determine who was behind the operation and their true intent.
