Fire outbreak at Winneba kills one, property destroyed

A fire outbreak at AG506 Ntakokofamu in Winneba has claimed the life of a 74-year-old woman, Mrs. Hannah Adaah, and caused significant property damage.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, prompting a swift response from the Winneba Fire Station at 1:13 am. Led by ADO II Attifa, the fire crew arrived at the scene within two minutes and contained the blaze by 1:57 am.

The fire, which was confined to a bedroom, resulted in the destruction of partially burnt louver blades, ceiling, window netting, and personal belongings. Firefighters managed to prevent further damage to six other bedrooms, a hall, and a kitchen, while rescuing five other occupants, including two children and three adults.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
