Bishop Salifu Amoako, Founder and General Overseer of Alive Chapel International, was involved in a five-vehicle collision near the Tesano-Papaye area on Tuesday, December 24.
Fortunately, despite the significant damage to all the vehicles, including his own, no injuries were reported.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the accident was triggered by a truck experiencing brake failure, leading to a chain collision. The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the incident. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the brake failure and are working to locate the driver.
This incident follows a recent court ruling involving Bishop Amoako’s 16-year-old son, who was found guilty of manslaughter after causing an October 12 accident that claimed the lives of two minors. The teenager was sentenced to six months at the Senior Correctional Center.
Additionally, the court fined the parents 500 penalty units each (GHc6,000) for failing to supervise their son and ordered them to pay for damages, including the replacement of a light pole valued at GHc8,000.
