Voters in the Ablekuma West Constituency rejected a pick-up truck carrying food packs, hooting at the driver and escorting the vehicle off the premises.
The occupants of the vehicle reportedly claimed the food was intended for party officials on behalf of the incumbent Member of Parliament, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful. However, the legislator is yet to respond to the allegations.
Local media outlet Channel One, which shared footage from the scene, reported that “the vehicle is now parked outside.”

This incident comes amid similar controversy involving Ayawaso West Wuogon MP Lydia Alhassan, who was seen distributing food to electorates during the special voting exercise on Monday. Although she initially denied the claims despite available footage, she later clarified that voters had approached her for food and insisted there was no ill intent behind her actions.
Her actions were condemned by many including the Electoral Commission (EC) and her main rival from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dumelo, who petitioned the Office of the Special Prosecutor to probe the matter.
The developments have sparked discussions about vote-buying and the ethical conduct of politicians during the electoral process.
