Former GFA president and Ejisu NPP primary candidate, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has spoken out after his discharge from Asokore Mampong Hospital, where he was treated since Friday night.
Initial reports suggested Nyantakyi fell ill due to not eating on Friday amidst campaign activities. However, in a video shared on social media, Nyantakyi explained that he started feeling dizzy and had to be quickly taken to the hospital.
He further recounted that “at the hospital, they placed drips on me”.
“I thank God I am still alive,” an emotional Nyantakyi said.
Despite being hospitalized on Friday night, Kwesi Nyantakyi arrived at the voting center to cast his ballot in a field of nine aspirants.
Nyantakyi was still under observation at the hospital when polling began. He appeared weak upon arrival and required assistance from a member of his team to walk.
Nine aspirants are vying to become the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for the forthcoming by-election in Ejisu, following the passing of MP John Kumah in March.
