Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has offered a scholarship to Miss Alice Dziwornu, who has become the constituency’s first-ever Aerospace Engineer.
Miss Dziwornu, a first-class graduate from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), achieved this historic milestone last Friday. She completed her studies with the support of the North Tongu MP’s Scholarship Scheme, which covered her education following the tragic loss of her father five years ago.
Recognizing her brilliance and determination, Mr. Ablakwa has extended further support by securing a scholarship for Miss Dziwornu to pursue her master’s degree.
“Emerging tops in a male-dominated field, I have no doubt that Miss Dziwornu will achieve her ambition of working with Boeing and motivating girls in rural Ghana to embrace STEM,” Mr. Ablakwa remarked.
Expressing his pride, he added, “Thanks Alice for making me a proud MP.”
Miss Dziwornu’s achievement not only highlights her perseverance but also serves as a source of inspiration for young women in rural Ghana to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Aerospace engineers develop leading-edge technologies and integrate them into aerospace vehicle systems used for transportation, communications, exploration, and defense applications. This involves the design and manufacturing of aircraft, spacecraft, propulsion systems, satellites, and missiles, as well as the design and testing of aircraft and aerospace products, components, and subassemblies.
