GHC20,000 reward offered for information on Obuasi election violence suspects

The Ghana Police Service has announced a GH₵20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of individuals from Obuasi who were seen in a viral video threatening violence ahead of the 2024 general elections.

The suspects, identified as Fuseini Yahuza, Bernard Ahedor, Simon, Basit, and Musa Yakubu (also known as Agya Musah), have been evading capture since the video surfaced, prompting the police to launch a manhunt.

The threatening video has sparked concerns about potential electoral violence, prompting the authorities to escalate their efforts to locate the suspects. On November 15, 2024, the suspects were declared wanted for their involvement in making violent threats linked to the upcoming elections.

The Police Service is urging the public to come forward with any information that could help apprehend the suspects. A reward of GH₵20,000 is being offered to anyone who provides credible information that leads to their arrest.
