Arteta hopeful of Odegaard, Gabriel’s return in Newcastle United game

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta remains hopeful that both Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Magalhães will be available for Saturday’s matchup against Newcastle United.

Gabriel, who missed his first game of the season after picking up an injury against Liverpool, will undergo a final training session today to determine his fitness.

Arteta shared that if Gabriel completes the session without any issues, he could make the lineup alongside William Saliba, who is back from suspension.

Regarding Odegaard, Arteta indicated that the midfielder is making steady progress in his recovery. While the Newcastle game might be too soon, there’s optimism that Odegaard could return in time for Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Inter Milan.

“He’ll start some work with us,” Arteta said, noting Odegaard’s determination to get back on the pitch, “and if everything goes well, he should be ready to rejoin soon.”
