Ayivor Elikplim, the Operations Manager of Multi Credit Savings and Loans Ltd in Nkawkaw, is scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday, July 2, for assaulting Martha Adutwumwaa, a 28-year-old mobile banker, reportedly over a GH¢90 shortage.
The case, presided over by His Worship Isaac Agyei at the Nkawkaw Magistrate Court, revealed that Elikplim’s assault resulted in Adutwumwaa seeking medical attention at the Nkawkaw Holy Family Hospital. Adutwumwaa faced difficulties in raising the GH¢400 required for a medical report.
Ayivor Elikplim was arraigned by the Ghana Police Service on June 26, 2024, following his arrest on June 25, 2024. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was convicted based on his plea. Consequently, Elikplim was remanded into police custody.
Elikplim appeared before the Nkawkaw District Court on Friday, but the sentencing was postponed to tomorrow.
In light of his conviction, the photograph of Ayivor Elikplim has been made public. The incident, captured in a video circulating on social media, shows the disturbing scene of Elikplim continuing to assault Adutwumwaa despite coworkers’ attempts to intervene.
The final judgment is anticipated tomorrow, with Elikplim remaining in police custody until then.
