A shocking video circulating widely on social media has brought to light disturbing behaviour within a corporate environment in Nkawkaw, Eastern Region.
In the video, the boss of a Savings and Loans Company is seen physically assaulting a female employee, despite attempts by other workers to intervene..
Captain Smart, recounting the incident on Maakye FM, revealed that the altercation began after the employee allegedly made derogatory remarks about the boss’s wife.
“There are certain words you don’t use in certain environments,” Captain Smart emphasized, expressing his dismay at the video’s contents and the violence displayed towards the woman.
“Treating a woman in this manner publicly is unacceptable. If he has a girlfriend, she should leave him, and if he has a wife, she should consider leaving,” he strongly asserted.
The incident has sparked widespread condemnation and calls for action against workplace violence and gender-based abuse.

Legal Implications
According to Ghana’s Labour Act 2003, Clause 18 mandates that “An employer shall take appropriate measures to safeguard the health and safety of employees.”
This provision emphasizes the employer’s responsibility to ensure a safe working environment free from physical harm or abuse.
Furthermore, Clause 38 of the Act states that “A person who contravenes any of these regulations commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of twenty-five penalty units.”
Authorities and stakeholders are expected to investigate to ensure accountability and compliance with labor laws aimed at protecting workers’ rights in Ghana.
