Repair work has commenced on the previously dilapidated road at Olympia, along the La-Nungua stretch, a vital link between La and Nungua in the Greater Accra Region.
This development follows recent media reports highlighting the hazardous condition of the road, which had been a significant concern for commuters.
According to Urban Roads Engineer Adjei Boateng, who is overseeing the project, major repairs are expected to be completed within a week or two, followed by minor works, with full completion anticipated within a month.
“We intend to finish the works in a week or two then we now start with the minor work where the road will be fully finished, so let us give ourselves a month,” he said.
Commuters and motorists have expressed their appreciation for the repair works, which are expected to bring relief to their daily travels.
The Member of Parliament for La-Dadekotopon, Rita Naa Odoley, has also expressed her satisfaction with the development, highlighting her role in advocating for the repairs.
