One person is reported to be in a critical condition after a tree fell on a motorcycle and a 4-wheel drive after heavy rains in the early hours of today, May 6.
Today’s rainfall in the Accra Airport area had a devastating effect, causing numerous trees to split and resulting in damage to cars parked nearby.
The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has issued weather warnings following heavy rainfall in the southern part of the country.

The rain in Ghana is attributed to a rainstorm observed over southern Togo and is expected to move westward, affecting areas in southern Ghana.
There will be thunderstorms or rain of varying intensities, along with increased cloud cover.
Moderate to strong winds may accompany the rainstorm in some areas.
On Monday, May 6, between 7 and 11 in the morning, areas including Aflao, Keta, Dzodze, Anloga, Ho, Ada foah, Accra, Kasoa, Dodowa, Madina, Nsawam, Koforidua, Akim Oda, and their surroundings should take precautionary measures due to the heavy rainfall.
However, Cape Coast, Tarkwa, Axim, Takoradi, and their surroundings are at lower risk.
Additionally, rough sea conditions are expected.
