Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed his satisfaction with Thomas Partey’s performance and urged the Ghanaian midfielder to remain focused at the club, despite having just one year left on his current contract.
Partey has faced injury setbacks during the 2023/24 season, limiting him to only eight Premier League appearances.
However, he recently made his first start since August in a match against Luton Town at the Emirates, playing 67 minutes.
Following the game, Partey expressed his excitement about being at Arsenal, despite speculations about his future at the club.
Quizzed by the Ghanaian’s comments, Arteta replied: “Partey said he’s happy here? He’d better have his head here because we are playing for big things.”
“He’s a top player, he’s under contract for one more year and I’m really happy with Thomas.”
Arteta is counting on Partey for the final stretch of the season as Arsenal aims to compete for both the Premier League and Champions League titles.
Mikel Arteta not messing about when it comes to Thomas Partey 😳
“He’d better have his head here because we are playing for big things…” 👏
