During a live TV interview on Oyerepa TV on Monday, March 25, 2024, Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah was rendered speechless when asked about the projects undertaken by his party, the NPP, for the people of his region.
Moments before being posed this question, the minister had issued a challenge to the National Democratic Congress, demanding that they showcase 10 legacy projects they had initiated in the Ashanti Region.
“They should give me 10 signature projects or legacy projects that they commissioned in the 8-year period they were in power, in the Ashanti Region,” he dared.
However, when the same question was directed at him, it became apparent that he did not have immediate answers to his own demands from the opposition.
Struggling to provide answers, Osei-Mensah managed to mention four projects before going silent, unable to continue.
“We have completed the Zipline project which is at Mampong… go and look at Bosomtwe Girls… By the end of April, you will see that planes can land at the airport… baby and mother unit that Auntie Rebecca came to commission is also our project,” and then the minister went blank on live TV.
After a brief pause, he assured Kwesi Parker-Wilson, the host of the program, that he would retrieve the additional details and provide them later.
