Luis Enrique has acknowledged that Paris Saint-Germain is preparing for the possibility of life without Kylian Mbappe, after substituting the sought-after player at half-time during the match against Monaco.
Mbappe, aged 25, is strongly rumored to have reached an agreement to join Real Madrid when his contract expires this summer, although no official announcement has been made regarding the transfer.
The French captain was taken off for the second consecutive game and chose to watch the second half of the goalless draw from the stands.
PSG manager Enrique stated that he is resigned to the likely departure of the 2018 World Cup winner and aims to adapt his team’s setup accordingly.

The 53-year-old said: “Sooner or later he won’t play with us anymore. We have to get used to that.
“I’m trying to find the best formula. I do what I consider to be best for the team. It’s my decision.”
Mbappe was substituted in the 65th minute during last Sunday’s match against Rennes, with PSG trailing 1-0. His replacement, Goncalo Ramos, managed to equalize in stoppage time. Despite the introduction of fellow Frenchman Randal Kolo Muani, PSG failed to secure a victory once again.
Mbappe, who joined PSG from Monaco in 2018, is the club’s all-time leading scorer with 244 goals.
Currently, PSG holds a 12-point lead at the top of Ligue 1 and is scheduled to face Real Sociedad in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday. In the first leg earlier this month, Mbappe scored the first goal in a 2-0 victory over the LaLiga outfit.
